  • Arrive at The Surgery Center of Centralia one hour before your scheduled surgery; unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
  • Bring a Photo ID (Driver’s License), all insurance cards and a completed Registration Form.
  • Bring your copay, coinsurance and/or deductible (if applicable).
  • DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING (including water, hard candy, breath mints, gum and chewing tobacco) after midnight the night before surgery, unless otherwise instructed by your surgeon or the nurse at the Surgery Center.
  • Arrange for a responsible adult (18 years or older) to drive you home and stay with you after surgery.
  • If you should develop health changes (i.e. fever, cough, cold or flu) between your most recent visit to your surgeon and your scheduled surgery, contact your surgeon.
  • Some medications need to be taken.  If you are taking medications, please check with your physician’s office or one of our nurses prior to surgery for specific instructions.  Do not take herbal medications prior to surgery.
  • Bring a list of all medications you are currently taking (include the strength and dosage of each medication).
  • If you suspect you are pregnant, notify your surgeon.  Anesthesia and medication may be harmful to the developing fetus.
  • Bathe or shower the morning of surgery.  Do not apply lotions or moisturizers.  Remove make-up and nail polish.
  • Wear loose and comfortable clothes that can easily slip over bandages, arms, legs or your head.
  • Remove your contact lenses. Bring your glasses and a case to put them in.
  • Leave your jewelry and valuables at home.  Remove all body piercings.
  • Two adults should accompany children; one to drive and one to take care of the child. Children may bring a special toy, book or blanket, if desired.
  • No personal photography is allowed within the Surgery Center due to the HIPAA Privacy Act.

  • Anesthesia affects every person differently.  It is important that you not drive or operate any equipment, sign important papers, make significant decisions or drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours after surgery.
  • Your surgeon will provide post-operative instructions regarding your diet, rest and medications.
